So why the ginseng and the ginkgo? Ginseng is an energy herb and a powerful stimulant. When consumed it can make the person feel more energetic for hours without crashing. As for the ginkgo it improves circulation of the brain, bringing you a better clarity of the mind and a better memory, so its place in the potion is to prevent mental fatigue.
i also chose the green tea not only because of its green color but it is a mild stimulant, it contains a little bit of caffeine but not nearly as much as coffee or energy drinks so there won't be a harsh crash.
Procedure:
in a small sauce pan bring together the sugar, corn syrup and half cup of water, bring to a medium high heat. Once boiling and all the sugar has dissolved turn off the heat. Add the ginseng and ginkgo and mix. cover the sauce pan and let steep for 1 hour.
Meanwhile: bring 4 cups of water to a boil, Once boiling bring of the heat at add the 4 tea bags of green tea, let steep for 3-5 minutes. Then remove tea bags and let cool.
Once the syrup has thoroughly cooled, strain out the ginkgo and ginseng with a sieve, cheese cloth or a coffee filter. Add the filtered syrup to the green tea, then add kool-aid if desired. Mix well to combine and chill.
